On September 11th, 2010, President Barack Obama joined over one hundred twenty five volunteers (including AmeriCorps NCCC members) who worked in teams to design and create quilts for children of deployed service men and women and engaged in a variety of painting activities at Ron Brown middle school. The volunteer projects were supported by Greater DC Cares, Operation Kid Comfort, and the Armed Service YMCA.
The President joined Americans across the country in marking the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks by participating in service and remembrance activities.
