On September 22, Corporation for National and Community Service CEO Patrick Corvington received the Outstanding American By Choice recognition by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas at a special naturalization ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial. Corvington, who is of Haitian descent, immigrated to the United States as a teenager and became an American citizen in 1993. The Outstanding American by Choice initiative recognizes the significant contributions and achievements of naturalized U.S. citizens. Through civic participation, professional achievement, and responsible citizenship, recipients of this honor have demonstrated their commitment to this country and to the common civic values that unite us all as Americans.
