In celebration of AmeriCorps Week, VISTAs past and present gathered at Busboys & Poets in Washington, DC on May 11, 2011 for an evening of readings and reflections. Alumni and currently serving members, inspired by the author and contributors of Knocking on Doors: VISTA Volunteers Remember 1965-1971, shared the impact of service on their lives and careers. Over 70 individuals gathered representing all decades since VISTA’s inception in 1965.
